JOB SUMMARY
Under immediate supervision, performs lifeguarding duties at the City swimming
pool; and performs related work as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a minimum of 16 years of age.
Current lifeguard certification.
Current CPR and First Aid certification.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Makes patrons aware of the rules and regulations to be observed in and around
the pool to minimize or eliminate hazardous situations.
Observes users in their pool activities and responds quickly to all emergency
situations in the water assisting anyone in distress or rescuing anyone in
drowning situations.
May administer emergency CPR and first aid until qualified medical personnel
arrives.
Cleans and maintains locker rooms, pool deck and rest rooms.
Brushes pool / skims pool.
General housekeeping such as taking out trash, cleaning food area.
Does routine chemical checks on water.
Work safely observing all OSHA, Federal, State, and City regulations. Report
any accidents immediately to Supervisor or Manager.
Correctly wear appropriate personal protective equipment when required.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment. Report any malfunctioning equipment
to the Supervisor or Manager.
Conduct behavior at all times in a professional manner to reflect positively
on customers perception of Town Facility.
Promote the teamwork environment. Assist co-workers when necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide coverage in absence of other personnel.
