The Finance Department is responsible for preparing financial
plans such as budgets, capital improvement plans, and financial
projections. These plans act as roadmaps that are used by all
Town departments to conduct their business activities throughout
the year. The Finance Department also manages cash and
investment portfolios, as well as oversees debt issuances. The
Finance Department oversees the
purchasing activities of the Town, including the
preparation of bid documents, solicitation for bids and the
issuance of purchase orders. The Finance Department records all
financial transactions and provides financial stewardship over
the assets of the Town. We support the activities of the
operating departments and provide fiscal management and
oversight. On a regular basis, the Finance Department reports
financial results to the Town Council, Town Manager and internal
departments. Annually, the Town is audited by a third party
independent accounting firm through a contract with the State of
Tennessee.
