Policy for Traffic School

In signing this conditional plea of guilty I acknowledge that, without force, or threats, or promises by any person, and without prior discussion between myself and the judge I do hereby voluntarily plead guilty to the offense with which I am charged in this case.  I understand that my compliance with the terms for credit for traffic school will result in the violation being kept off of my driving record and that my failure to comply with the terms for credit for traffic school will result in my being found guilty of said charge, and I will be required to pay the fine, litigation tax, and court costs.

Please be aware of the following rules:

  1. Class starts on time. No one will be admitted after class has begun. The instructor sets his watch by the radio station WSM AM 650. The instructor can not waive this rule.
  2. Tuition must be paid when you register for the class by the date designated by the judge; if time to pay is given you must pay at the Court Clerk’s Office-at 400 Enon Springs East Smyrna, Tennessee 37167 Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm. Payment will not be accepted at class!
  3. If Traffic School tuition is not paid by the date specified by the judge, credit for attending the class will not be given. The receiver of the citation will be considered as having pled guilty and the ticket will be sent to the Tennessee Department of Safety.
  4. You are eligible to attend a two hour traffic school once within a 24 month period. You must inform the court clerk if you have been to traffic school within the last 24 months or have/had any other moving traffic violations. Those failing to inform the clerk will not receive credit for the class and will be considered as having pled guilty. DRIVER’S HISTORY IS CHECKED. By signing the sign in sheet with the clerk’s office the receiver of the citation affirmatively states that he/she has not had any other moving violations within the past 24 months. The judge in court gives the only exception to this rule.
  5. You must appear on your scheduled traffic school date.
  6. You must complete any required community service—if assigned.
  7. No children under the age of 14 may attend as visitors.
  8. Procedure for rescheduling Traffic School – If you fail to attend Traffic School you are allowed to reschedule your class one time by providing the proper documentation to the court clerk’s office. For more information contact the clerk’s office at (615) 355-5732.

I agree to the above terms and acknowledge that failure to meet any of these terms may result in my not receiving credit even if I attend the traffic school class. I, the receiver of a citation, understand and accept these conditions:
