JOB SUMMARY
This classification performs varied grounds keeping activities and provides supervision to others performing similar activities. Duties and responsibilities include mowing golf course areas, picking up debris along golf course areas, refurbishes flower and shrub beds; simple plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work. Reports to the Certified Golf Course Superintendent.

QUALIFICATIONS
• High School diploma or GED.
• One (1) to two (2) years experience in facilities, equipment, and grounds maintenance.

• Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid Tennessee Drivers License.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. • Supervises and works along side of golf maintenance employees engaged in maintenance of grounds, equipment and facilities within the golf course.
• Trains seasonal and part-time personnel in equipment, operating methods, and safety practices.
• Performs various grounds maintenance tasks to the golf course. Applies fertilizer and seed to turf areas. Clears brush and trees. Mows right of ways, fairways, greens, and other golf course areas. Plants flowers, shrubs, and trees. Waters and fertilizes plants; prunes trees and shrubs; weeds flowerbeds; aerates greens and other designated areas.
• Performs minor mechanical repairs and performs routine preventive maintenance to small gasoline engines in tractors, mowers, pumps, trucksters, trucks, etc. Lubricates moving parts and checks fluid levels.
• Maintains records reflecting work performed, problems encountered, equipment check-in/out, parts used and other required information.
• Serves as a lead worker on small projects and/or assignments. Ensures work is completed as directed and meets quality standards.
• Tracks facility rentals for maintenance purposes.
• Assists in repair of irrigation lines.
• Makes minor repairs to golf course buildings and facilities. Performs rough carpentry, paints walls and ceilings, replaces signs, repair fences and tables, etc.
• Repairs roadways and trails by patching pot holes, etc.
• Picks up litter on golf courses and perform routine janitorial duties. Sweeps and mops floors, empties wastebasket and other housekeeping duties.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains records in compliance to Federal, State, and City regulations.
• Works safely observing all OSHA, Federal, State, and City regulations. Reports any accidents immediately to supervisor.
• Correctly wear appropriate personal protective equipment when required.
• Conduct behavior at all times in a professional manner to reflect positively on customer’s perception of the Town.
• Provide coverage in absence of other personnel.
• Promote the teamwork environment. Assist coworkers when necessary.
• Help maintain the cleanliness of machines, work area and facility.
• Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
