  • CALL THE TOWN MANAGER’S OFFICE BEFORE 4:30 P.M. ON THE THURSDAY BEFORE THE COUNCIL MEETING AND REQUEST TO BE PLACED UNDER CITIZEN COMMENTS;
  • PROVIDE HIS OR HER NAME, ADDRESS AND TELEPHONE NUMBER; AND
  • STATE THE PURPOSE OF ADDRESSING THE COUNCIL.

6.   Consent Agenda:

Note:  Consent Agenda items will be those items determined by the Town Manager to be routine matters not necessitating discussion.  All Consent Agenda items may be voted upon simultaneously pursuant to a single motion.  There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a member of the Town Council requests that discussion be held, in which case the item will be removed from the Consent Agenda and considered separately.  Following passage of the remaining Consent Agenda items, discussion of any items removed from the Consent Agenda shall be held and separate motions and votes shall be taken for each of the items removed.

a. Approval of the terms of, and authorization for the Mayor to execute, a proposal from Gresham Smith and Partners relative to Lee Road Area Traffic Study.

b. Approval and authorization for the Mayor to execute, the annual report for the NPDES Phase II, MS4 Program.

c. Approval of the terms of, and authorization for the Mayor to execute, a contract with Southeast Fire, LLC relative to fire department apparatus servicing.

d. Approval of the terms of, and authorization for the Mayor to execute, a contract with AT&T relative to putting transmission lines underground in the downtown area along Lowry Street.

e. Approval of the terms of, and authorization for the Mayor to execute, a contract with Betty Brinn Museum relative to the rental of Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab exhibit.

f. Approval of additional design services with Kline Swinney Associates relative to the Capt. Jeff Kuss USMC Memorial.

g. Approval of the terms of, and authorization for the Mayor to execute, a contract with Kimley Horn relative to engineering and architectural services associated with the ADA Transition Plan and Self-Evaluation.

7.    Old Business:  

    a.    PUBLIC HEARING:  Consideration of an ordinance relative to the rezoning of property located on Tax Map 49, Parcel 107.00, containing approximately 4.6 acres (requested by Jimmy Maynard), from R-1 to C-4. Property is located at 10259 Old Nashville Highway.  Second  Reading.

    b.    PUBLIC HEARING:  Consideration of an ordinance relative to the rezoning of property located on Tax Map 28, Parcel 103.01, containing approximately 43.3 acres, (requested by Richard Tune), from R-1 to R-3.  Property is located at the end of Williamsport Drive.  Second Reading.

    c.    PUBLIC HEARING:  Consideration of an ordinance relative to the increase in the annual salary of the Town of Smyrna Municipal Court Clerk.  Second Reading.

8.    New Business:    

a. Planning Commission Report:  

            i.    Consideration of an ordinance relative to the rezoning of property located on Tax Map 33, Parcels 71.00 and 71.01, containing approximately 12.61 acres, (requested by Nathan Melson), from R-1 to PUD.  Properties are located on Rocky Fork Road.  First Reading.    

            ii.    Consideration of an ordinance relative to the annexation and R-3 zoning of property located on Tax Map 54, Parcels 53.00 and 54.00 and Tax Map 55, Parcel 29.01, containing approximately 11 acres, (requested by SCollins2 Properties, LLC).  Properties are located at 7866 and 7906 Rocky Fork Road and 610 Inez Drive.  First Reading.

            iii.    Consideration of an ordinance relative to the annexation and C-2 and I-2 zoning of property located on Tax Map 20, Parcels 19.01, 37.00, 40.00, 41.00, 43.00, 46.00, 46.01, 48.00, 52.00, 54.00, 55.00, 61.00, 61.01, and 61.03 and Tax Map 26, Parcels 13.00, 13.01, 13.02, 15.00, 15.01, 18.00, and 18.01, containing approximately 412 acres, (requested by Michael and Ryan Hollingshead).  Properties are located along West Jefferson Pike and Hickory Grove Road.  The Planning Commission also recommended the annexation of approximately 1.7 miles of the existing right-of-way of West Jefferson Pike and approximately .51 of a mile of the existing right-of-way of Hickory Grove Road.  First Reading.

            iv.    Consideration of an ordinance relative to the rezoning of property located on Tax Map 27P, Group C, Parcel 11.00, containing approximately 4.9 acres, (requested by Mehran Janbakhsh), from C-2 to C-5.  Property is located at 307 Hazelwood Drive.  First Reading.

             v.    Consideration of an ordinance relative to the rezoning of property located on Tax Map 34G, Group C, Parcel 14.01, containing approximately .96 acre, (requested by Steve Kroeger), from C-2 to PCD.  Property is located on Sgt. Asbury Hawn Way and Nissan Drive.  First Reading.

      b.    Packaged Liquor Board Report:  There were no applications for the Town Council to consider at this time.

c.    Approval of the terms of, and authorization for the Mayor to execute, a contract with Musco Lighting relative to sports lighting for the Rotary Soccer Park Annex.

d.   Consideration of a resolution appropriating funds for non-profit organizations relative to     Linebaugh Library/Smyrna Branch.

e.    Other.
