The Town of Smyrna's 5th annual PrepareAthon! is scheduled for Friday, March 22nd at 8:30am.

  • Understand which disasters could happen in our community
  • Know what to do to be safe and mitigate damage
  • Take action to increase their preparedness
  • Participate in community resilience planning

The 2019 PrepareAthon! theme is Flooding and Tornado Safety. Businesses, schools, and citizens are encouraged to participate in the PrepareAthon! by conducting a tornado drill on March 22nd at 8:30am. Instruct your employees on the proper procedures during a tornado and the safest spot in your business to take cover during a storm.

The Family Safety & Preparedness Expo is scheduled for Saturday, March 30th from 9:00am until 2:00pm at the Smyrna Event Center (100 Sam Ridley Parkway). We will have vendor booths and fun activities for the entire family that focus on emergency preparedness. If your business is interested in vending at this event, please contact Assistant Chief James Lawrence at (615) 459-9735, Extension 7520.
