This Records Division is the face of the department and oversees the input, upkeep, and safekeeping of all records related to the day-to-day activities of the Police Department. It handles the organization and distribution of incident reports, crash reports, arrest reports, citations, and various other documents integral to departmental operations.
The Smyrna Police Records Department uses one of the most sophisticated computer system records entry systems available. The software is integrated with the telecommunications system allowing access to the most current information available. This allows cross checks for active warrants, stolen property, or other pertinent information concerning the individual or situation during the record entry process.

Our Records Division is certified with TIBRS, the Tennessee Incident Base Reporting System, and with TIES, the Tennessee Information Enforcement System in cooperation with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
Police to Citizen (P2C)

Police-to-Citizen (P2C) allows the department to share public information with citizens in a central way and allows citizens to search police records and download some reports. This application allows citizens to be more informed about the community and allows for more interaction and input into the protection of the community.
