To ensure our guests’ safety during each visit, the SOAC will be implementing scheduled Climb Times in our Adventure Zone rooms. These will be 40 minute times starting at 10:20AM with 20 minute cleaning intervals between each Climb Time.

  • All visitors, including members, will be asked to sign up for one of these Climb Times during their visit. Guests are also welcome to call ahead, the day of, and reserve one scheduled climb time per person at (615) 459-9710.

Masks and Face Coverings

  • All staff and visitors ages 5 and up are encouraged to wear a face covering (children ages 2-4 are encouraged, but not required, to wear masks or face coverings).
Health Screenings

  • For indoor programs, the SOAC will conduct a health screening of all staff upon arrival to work. Sick employees will not be allowed in the building.
  • When arriving for an indoor program, SOAC staff will screen visitors. Guests will be required to answer COVID-19 screening questions and have their temperature checked.
  • In order to maintain social distancing, daily capacity will be limited in the building and are asked to maintain social distancing guidelines.
  • We are requiring all guests to adhere to our social distancing guidelines posted throughout the SOAC.
  • Hand sanitizer and face masks will be provided upon request.
  • Hand washing will be encouraged before climbing in the Adventure Zone Rooms and before interacting with the featured exhibition. The SOAC will provide extra locations throughout the building, with 3 additional hand sanitizing wall-mounted stations and 6 hand sanitizing pump stations (one in each room).
  • SOAC staff will be cleaning exhibits, restrooms, and high traffic surfaces throughout the day and will conduct a deep cleaning at the end of each day.
  • Sanitation Station Buckets will be available within the building.
The Smyrna Outdoor Adventure Center’s policies and procedures are based upon recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and align with local and state guidelines. The SOAC will continue to evaluate its new measures and make changes to the guidelines as needed.
